A new school year is looming upon us, and with it comes all sorts of newness – new clothes, new pencils, new classmates, and of course new teachers! Start the year off by letting those teachers know how much you appreciate them with a cute, easy DIY card. It’s never too early in the school year for teacher appreciation!
This project is part of the back-to-school edition of Craft Lightning! This edition of Craft Lighting is brought to you by Laura Kelly Designs, The Country Chic Cottage, and 30 Minute Crafts. Check out their blogs for features of other back-to-school craft ideas all week long, each project taking just 15 minutes or less to complete!
For this project you will need:
- Paper (red and green)
- Scissors
- Heart stencil or template (optional)
- Glue dots
- Letter stickers
Fold a piece of red paper in half and draw or trace a heart shape onto the paper, making sure that a section of the shape touches the crease. (This will create the hinge of your card.) Cut out the heart.
Cut a leaf shape out of green paper and use a glue dot to attach it to the top of the heart. Now your heart also doubles as an apple!
Use letter stickers to spell out (or, alternatively, hand write) the words “To teach is to love.”
On the inside, you can add an additional note, or just add signatures. A heartfelt, handmade card is a sure way to start the year on the right foot!
