Disclosure: I received the lights for this project free in exchange for an honest review. Post contains affiliate links.
This is another one of those projects I’ve had in my head for quite a while and I am now finally getting around to actually doing – thanks to a little inspiration and motivation from the folks at Kohree, who sent me some copper wire LED lights to try out! I knew that they would be perfect for this idea that’s been brewing for a while, ever since I bought a big glass hurricane at Goodwill a while back. Over time I ended up also collecting all the rest of the bit for this projects, but the lights are what really put it over the top.
The lights were great to work with! They’re easy to work into a project like this and they have a wonderful aesthetic. I think they were the perfect addition to give this project a “wow factor” finishing touch!
You will need:
- 4″ Styrofoam ball (or appropriate size for your container)
- Glue
- Spanish moss
- Large glass hurricane
- Faux succulents
- Faux berry floral sprigs
- Copper wire LED lights
Watch my video to see how I put it all together! An optional step that you don’t see in the video: if needed, you can add ribbon or other trim around the bottom of the hurricane. You can tuck the battery pack for the lights underneath the hurricane to hide it!
